Mural Ojo de agua | Urban Wall Integration

The artists Ximena Subercaseaux and Esteban Huacuja have transformed more than 8,000 square meters of the Loma Larga tunnel “Agustín Basave Fernández del Valle” with their monumental macro mural Ojo de Agua. Unveiled in collaboration between the municipalities of San Pedro Garza García and Monterrey, the project aims to reimagine the viaduct as a vibrant and meaningful public space that strengthens local identity and community pride.

The mural, created with the participation of 25 artists over nearly three months of night shifts, highlights the history of the city through a palette of blues, greens, and yellows that inject vitality into the urban landscape. The initiative was made possible thanks to the support of Osel, who donated the paint, and the collaboration of both municipalities. During the unveiling, the mayors of San Pedro and Monterrey emphasized the importance of joint projects that improve shared spaces for the benefit of the entire metropolitan area.

The Municipality of San Pedro Garza García, in collaboration with Monterrey, unveiled the commemorative plaque for the mural “Ojo de Agua”, created by artists Ximena Subercaseaux Sommerhoff and Esteban Huacuja Mena, in the Loma Larga tunnel Agustín Basave Fernández del Valle.
