The title, coined by the artist, resonates like the name of an undiscovered celestial body. Nexarion suggests both nexus and origin, an invented territory where architecture and cosmos converge.
The work unfolds organic forms reminiscent of Antoni Gaudí’s language, fusing geometry and nature in a monumental gesture. More than a ceiling, Nexarion operates as a horizontal portal: a contemporary firmament that transforms the simple act of walking into a new phenomenological experience.
Bespoke architectural ceiling integration engineered as a twelve-meter architectural installation, the system functions through a modulated network of high-grade cast aluminum modules, hand-fused contemporary stained glass, and a custom CNC-machined structural steel framework designed to distribute load-bearing stress across the ceiling slab. Throughout the day, the materials act as a passive optical system, responding to ambient light. At night, the structure shifts into an active device via an integrated low-voltage 24V LED halo backlight network, forcing sharp emerald, cobalt, and violet light spectrums to slide across the polished metallic edges and wash the surrounding interior volume.Rejecting decorative surface ornament, Nexarion is a computational diagram materialized through advanced engineering and artisan foundry.
The structural layout, born from manual and intuitive design, remains completely scalable and adaptable to specific interior dimensions, establishing a permanent physical threshold that mediates the relationship between the human scale and the built environment.
