Virreina, Loma Serena
Year
March-April 2026
Location
Loma Serena, Boyacá, Colombia
This archive documents work developed during a six-week residency at VIRREINA in Loma Serena, Boyacá, Colombia, a rural environment dedicated to artistic research, experimentation, and reflection. The residency provided a framework for focused studio practice, field observation, and the development of new bodies of work.
The first line of investigation focused on site-responsive interventions in the landscape, resulting in a totemic land art structure built from natural materials and a circular installation conceived in direct dialogue with the surrounding environment. These works explored spatial relationships between form, place, and material presence.
Parallel to this, the residency supported the continued development of Codex, an ongoing series of drawings on paper, alongside ceramic experiments involving material testing and form studies. Together, these investigations expanded the visual and material vocabulary of the broader studio practice.
We all want to know
