ST_IMMERSION (2019)

ST_IMMERSION examines how images are constructed, processed, and transformed across different conditions. The works operate between drawing, material assembly, and digital systems, where each piece is understood not as a fixed object but as a sequence of translations.

The starting point is drawing. From there, forms are developed into layered compositions built with acrylic, light, gold leaf, and handcrafted elements. In some cases, these structures extend into programmed environments, where movement and variation introduce time as an active component. As images move through these stages, they are altered. They accumulate, lose, and reorganize information, shifting their meaning with each transition.

At the center of the exhibition is the relationship between object and image. What is seen as a stable form is in fact the result of multiple underlying processes. The works expose this condition by presenting surfaces that appear resolved but contain overlapping systems beneath them. Rather than representing reality, they construct it through layers that remain partially visible.

Different visual languages intersect throughout the exhibition. References drawn from pre-Hispanic sources, contemporary culture, and digital communication are brought together and reorganized. These elements do not form a unified narrative. Instead, they operate as fragments within a larger structure, where meaning emerges through proximity and tension.

The exhibition unfolds as an environment shaped by light, reflection, and programmed change. Perception becomes unstable, continuously shifting between what is physically present and what is suggested. In this context, immersion is not only a technological condition but a way of engaging with images that are always in the process of becoming.

ST_IMMERSION positions the artwork as a system rather than an endpoint. Each piece exists within a broader network of transformations, where the image is never final and the object is only one of its possible states.
