Penumbra

Penumbra was conceived as a spatial condition more than a conventional exhibition. Installed within the raw structure of Edificio Lolyta, the project used light, shadow, and atmosphere as primary elements, shaping how the work was experienced.

The pieces existed in low light environments where visibility was partial and constantly shifting. Forms appeared and disappeared depending on the viewer’s position, while color and illumination activated the space in fragments. Nothing was fully revealed at once. The work unfolded over time, requiring movement and attention.

Layered compositions and cut forms were integrated into the existing textures of the building, allowing the architecture to remain active. Object and space operated together as a single system.

Penumbra focused on perception as something unstable. What is visible is always conditioned by what remains hidden. Light does not resolve the image; it complicates it, constructing an environment where form, image, and space are in continuous tension.
