This stained-glass installation was conceived as a work of light integrated directly into the architecture of the temple, developed in collaboration with the architecture studio Cuarzo. Rather than functioning as an isolated artwork, the piece is embedded into the building through four cross-shaped skylights, transforming the ceiling into an active, luminous structure.
Spanning over 100 square meters, the work uses a palette of warm yellows, ochres, golds, and subtle reddish tones, carefully chosen to harmonize with the existing materials of the space, including its onyx stone details. During the day, natural light filters through the glass, shifting in intensity and color as time passes. At night, the piece remains present through architectural lighting installed above the skylights, allowing the work to continue shaping the atmosphere of the temple.
The project draws inspiration from sacred art and the concept of offering—understanding beauty itself as a form of devotion. The stained glass does not aim to illustrate a narrative, but to create a state of presence: a moment of pause, contemplation, and calm. The space is not only seen, but inhabited, allowing visitors to experience light as a material that orders, transforms, and softens the architecture.
This work is part of an ongoing exploration of light, scale, and architectural integration, where art becomes an inhabitable experience and functions as a threshold between the physical and the spiritual.
